SSS 2014
Jan 19, 2014
The 2014 Shot Show wasn't too shabby. I wasn't that impressed with anything I saw there Shot Show girls included. There were basic upgrades to existing products and that was pretty much it. There was one exception to that which is the new DERMA Plate Carrier by ARES ARMOR. I will be shooting a video with the plate carrier and conversion kit as soon as our containers come back from Vegas.

Alright so these guys are on my radar and simply here's why; they put out a pattern some years back that had a lot of controversy around it as far as the military developing it and Crye ripping it off etc. OK so that's over so moving on... Then they preached for years about Multicam being the ONLY pattern that you need and their disciples who I dub as Crye Babies openly trashed any competing camo saying that it was inferior and why would you have multiple patterns when we have multicam? Now you haven't seen them online because they aren't being sold that way but my company makes THE BEST out of the box, ready to garnish and wear, MIL-SPEC PLUS ghillie suits. MOST of the bases that we sell ARE in Mulitcam. To me it is a great base for a sniper suit with VERY few exceptions globally. No one here has EVER said that it wasn't a great patter, because here we speak the truth and the truth is that we love Multicam. What we aren't in love with is NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN they are changing their philosophy and coming out with new patterns completely contradicting their claim to be the only camo needed. Multicam Black runs on the foot-heels of A-TACS LE. No way around it, no way to dispute it, that's the deal clear as day. For the other two patterns, they came as a result of the Army's petition for a new camo pattern. I think that their submissions were great and it answers their call for an arid, temperate, and transitional pattern. The snow thing is whatever. To me it's a nominal thing and I won't even get into that one. After the Army's camo competition came to an end is when it was time to put away the other patterns before someone caught wind of it, not time to put them out on a larger scale. People have been asking me about TRU-SPEC making the Arid and Tropic patterns and the answer is NO. They picked up Black but that's as far as it goes. Who will make them if anyone at this point is unclear. I PERSONALLY think that for main stream military camo that these are good patterns all the way around. There are just better ones out there for Tier 1 and 2 personnel.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2014 Shot Show. IF you are going send us your booth number so we can come by and see you. Many good things to come. Also if there are other manufacturers whose items you would like to save money on through our site that we don't already have on there let us know who you want us to contact while we are there and we will pick up their account.

So there are a lot of things in the mix right now. You will see the website (sss-store.com) go through some major changes. As there are multiple manufacturers that can't keep up with the high rate of sales from our site we will begin to part ways with a few of them. We will also be adding many more brands in the first 90 days of the year. We have been getting a lot more police, fire fighting, and EMT/EMS business so that will open up a new portal. We will also be changing our ordering system soon. Many people don't know but we are an acquisitions agent so even though you have the ease of ordering from a website, the ordering process does not differ than if we did an email/ invoice transaction. So keep that in mind when you wait until the last minute and order something from the site thinking that you will get it 2 days later. We set the prices down to agency order pricing because that is what our business is set up for. Individuals still have the ability to order from the site but like I said, with the same experience as an agency order. I was also very impressed with a few people who emailed in making offers for some items. Hey check this out, we are HUGE in the world of tactical gear when it comes to how many pieces we push out every week, BUT we are not one of the more well known entities and I hope it always stays that way. I would rather offer a few thousand people excellent service with no issues, than millions of people with a poor service rate. That being said money is money right? So why would we refuse an order if it were a Law Enforcement group with a small budget the opportunity to purchase items to protect their people at cost, or make just a few dollars off of an individual order? We are making serious money and I am not going to deny that, but we do it all on volume. We are not greedy and we are not money hungry. What we have is just a result of treating other people the right way. If you want to make an offer, I can't tell you what price you can get something at because that's proprietary and against contracts that we have signed.. All I can tell you is if you're too high or too low. I will actually simply say DEAL or NO DEAL. If you were smart and had the time you would keep going down until you got a response saying no deal and then back up one request. I am NOT trying to lose money by putting this out there. We just have enough flowing through the system right now with agency and government orders that it almost feels dirty not to share this with individuals who want to order great gear. Call me crazy if you like but I will do what I feel like is best for our industry through what I do with my own company. We will never have share holders for me to report back to and the only one who I am accountable to is God for the way I treated people while I am here on this earth.

I like this rig and would recommend it for most situations. I definitely recommend this for ALL MILSIM operations and heavy Long Range Recon groups. It will carry everything you need and more. When I first saw this rig the first operator role I thought of was actually the Air Force TAC-P since they need high capability comms support and get into some sticky situations themselves where having a loadout capacity like this would do them some good. The shoulder straps have just the right amount of padding and the back straps will accept a hyfration pouch if you want. If not the top back straps come together with bungee cord that is perfect for keeping the straps in place.

Monster Backpack pack
The Monster Backpack is a huge piece that deserves some recognition. It stacks up to the largest of operations packs. It is made pretty solid and is simple without having a lot of jazz on the outside besides MOLLE webbing, it does have a few pockets on the inside that you can use to separate items if needed. The shoulder straps are padded just right, ergonomically shaped to fit your body, and easily adjusted. The buckles are high tension and not cheap like on some other packs. There are three openings at the top for your hydration straw or radio antenna. On the bottom there is a drainage hole and four MOLLE attachment points for adding an expansion pack. The added waist belt helps keep the pack in place while on the move and adds comfort by evenly distributing the weight between your shoulders and waist.
I would definitely recommend this pack to anyone who is looking for a good load-out bag. You can fit an entire outfit (including boots) and gear essentials in this bag making it perfect for getting in or out in a hurry. Frameless construction allows for the bag to fit to your body or around your plate carrier with ease and ultimate comfort. The padding in the back is soft, but also dense enough that it helps vent air through the air channels to allow hot air trapped between your body and the pack to escape.
